What is the Core Line?

The Core Line is RRS’s newest tripod line, designed to deliver high performance in an American-made system at a more accessible price point. It allows more users to experience the reliability, precision, and craftsmanship that define RRS.

How did you achieve the more accessible price?

We developed an all-new carbon fiber production system, manufactured in-house at our Lehi, Utah facility. Combined with a direct-to-consumer sales model, this allows us to reduce costs and offer the Core Line at approximately 30% savings compared to comparable models.

Is RRS moving toward lower-quality tripods?

No. RRS remains committed to designing and building premium tripods. The Core Line simply expands our offering, making RRS performance accessible to a wider range of users without compromising our standards.

What is the quality difference between the Core Line and premium tripod line?

The difference lies in the strength of the carbon fiber tubes, utilizing a new in-house manufacturing process that is more cost-efficient. All other tripod aspects remain identical to our premium tripods. 

How does the performance of the Core carbon fiber tubes compare?

What Core tripods are currently available?

The current Core Line includes two tripod models: the Benchmark^TM, a tall, four-section traditional tripod, and the Benchmark^TM Inverted, a three-section inverted design optimized for set-up speed and versatility.

What is Benchmark^TM in relation to Core?

Benchmark^TM is the versatile tripod apex featured in the Core Line. It maintains the quality and performance you expect from RRS while introducing added versatility, including expanded attachment options, increased leg angle settings, and more ergonomic pull tabs.

Will the Core Line be expanded in the future?

Yes, there are plans to expand the Core Line over time. However, to maintain cost efficiency, it will remain more streamlined with fewer model variations than the premium RRS lineup.

When will the Core Line be available?
